To create My Sale Manager Tags you will need:
- Computer with Internet Access.
- Printer with black ink for half-price tags and red ink for any full-price tags (If tags are not printed in red ink they will go half price on 50% off day)
- White, letter-sized card stock paper (64lb or heavier) NOTE: will print tags smaller than 3x5.
Your My Sale Manager tag will include:
- Your assigned consignor account number: Your consignor number that you used to log in to your Consignor Homepage will automatically appear in the bottom left hand corner of your tag without your adding it to each tag.
- Category: Please select a category that best describes your item from the choices offered in the drop down option. If there is not one that accurately describes your item, simply choose "leave blank" and hand-write an appropriate category.
- Size: Please select a numerical size from the drop down option for all infant-junior clothing and shoes (ex. Size 4 - NOT "S" for small - and give the numerical equivalent if the label just uses a letter size S, M, L, XL, etc. for size.) If size does not apply to the item (ex. strollers, toys, books, dvds, etc.) you may leave the field blank. If you have a 2-pc clothing item, be sure the sizes are the same or that it is clearly marked on your tag what size each piece is! The only time you should sell a mismatched sized sets together is if one item "fits" more like the item it is paired with. We cannot accept two completely different sizes that are not similar in fit.
- Juniors:Please use "Junior-Boy" or "Junior-Girl" from the drop down category. For Size option, scroll to the bottom and select the size that most closely represents the manufacturer size on label.
Please do not use Women's brands as Juniors as their sizing is different and we do not accept Women's clothing even if they fit like juniors. - Brand/Description of Item: Briefly describe the item, but give enough detail so that we can identify items based on tag description. A good description would be "Talbot Kids Red Shirt with Blue Balloons" rather than just "Red Shirt". If your tag becomes separated from your item, we would like to be able to match it so that your item can sell! The program only allows a certain number of characters, but you are allowed--and encouraged--to hand write more description on your tags so that it contains a good description.
- Price: Set your prices for each of your items. We do recommend about 25-40% off the original retail price for clothing and as much as 40-50% for baby equipment (ex. strollers, cribs, etc.) and large toys (ex. Power wheels, Step 2 Playhouses, etc.) The system will only allow you to price your items on the dollar and half-dollar (ex. $5.00 or $5.50.) Please remember that the smaller the clothing size the more competitively it needs to be priced.
Attach Tags to Consignment Items by:
- Using a hole-punch maker, make one hole in the top-center of each price tag as low on the price tag as your hole-punch maker will allow. This will make the tag less likely to become separated from the item before time of purchase.
- Clothing Items. Secure your tags to the top right corner of your clothing items with a safety pin. DO NOT use small safety pins or straight pins. If you use a tagging gun, please be sure to insert the needle in the seam of the garment so as to not make a hole in the garment.
- Accessories such as ties, belts, socks, hair bows, bibs, bagged toys, etc. Place items and price tag INSIDE a clear plastic bag, (so that price tag information is visible without having to open the plastic bag).
- Other Non-clothing items such as shoes, toys, baby equipment, etc. Secure with either a safety pin, ribbon or string. Only use packing tape as a last resort and then only tape across the top 1/3 of the price tag. Do not use scotch tape. Attach price tag by string or safety pin if possible (use tape only if necessary and ONLY on finishes that will not become damaged with removal of tape such as paper covers of books). Books may be placed in bags with price tag on the inside of bag or tied together with string (like a package) with price tag tied to front.
- If you make a mistake on a price tag, you will have to make a new tag. For security reasons, we do NOT accept tags that have been altered in ANY way: cross-outs, white-outs, labels covering mistakes, etc. However, you may add a size or more description of the item.
