Our Mission Statement
 |
The partnership of Lori and
Lisa
actually began many years ago when Lori was born (Lisa is only 14
months older). As sisters, we grew up together, played church-league
basketball together, attended school together, shared secrets, and
provided support for one another through many of the happy and sad
times of our lives.
|
 |
Lisa and Lori became business partners
in early 2002, when they decided to embark in a small business called
“For Every Season Consignment Sale.” Both having been
stay-at-home mothers on tight budgets, we had to learn to adjust our
lifestyles to fit our incomes. We found that one of the biggest ways
to save money was to buy our children’s clothes and toys second-hand
from friends and family members who had older children. Wishing to
assist other families in saving money, we decided to have a large
consignment sale, in which people could sell their unwanted items and
buy the next sizes at great prices.
|
 |
After deciding to take the plunge into
the “retail” business, we both struggled with a name—one that would
encompass our desires to help others and our beliefs that God can use
each of us in every aspect of our lives, including our choices in
vocation. We decided on the name “For Every Season” after Lori was
reminded of the Ecclesiastical passage: |
For everything there is a season, and a time for every
purpose under
heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
 |
Immediately after starting the business,
we realized that we would need a lot of help if we were going to be
successful. Since we had already broken the first rule of business
(never mix business with family!), we decided to make it a total
family business. We enlisted the help of our spouses, Allen Hoffman
and Robert Johnson; our parents, Richard and Caroline Krueger and Lori’s mother-in-law, Lanna
Carroll-Boulware.
|
 |
We hope that our
consignors consider themselves to be small business owners in
partnership with For Every Season. The mission of For Every
Season is to empower families to make an income by selling their
items and to also make the most of their income by saving money at the
Sale! |

 | Lisa Johnson
I
am Lisa Johnson, married since 1989 to Robert and the mother of
Mariah
Caroline,
born in 1994, and Robert Braden, born in 1996. My brother's wife
Lea and I were able to "swap" our children's clothes since she had
an older boy and a younger girl and I had an older girl and a
younger boy. I borrowed all of her boy clothes and she borrowed
all of my girl clothes. We have laughed about the fact that our
clothing budget is literally HALF of what it could have been. My
hope is the For Every Season Consignment Sale will benefit others
by allowing all of us to "swap" our children's outgrown clothes to
make money and to buy the larger sizes we need to save money!

 | Lori Hoffman
I am Lori Hoffman, wife to Allen since 1995 and mother to Miller,
born in 1997
and
Landon, born in 1999. I have learned through experience that
children's items are expensive and don't get used often enough to
justify the inflated prices I was paying at the department stores.
With the addition of our first son, came a decrease in salary
since I quit my job to become a stay-at-home mom. I wanted all the
coolest toys, clothes and equipment for my sons just like everyone
else, yet became determined to have it without the debt that
usually accompanies it. I discovered the beauty of second-hand
items and the joy of income from selling my gently-used items. It
made so much sense to me to provide my boys with twice as much for
half as much, that I wanted to share those joys with other
parents. For Every Season Consignment fills that need for me -- to
help others get the best without the guilt of paying too much! |
